Jordan Club member and a BCBS employees create care packages for Hurricane Sandy Victims
A group of young people from the James R. Jordan Boys & Girls Club experienced the joys of giving and receiving as part of a holiday event coordinated by Blue Cross Blue Shield. Todd Phillips, Vice President of Middle Markets and Sales Strategy for BCBS, invited 20 Jordan Club members, ranging in age from 10-13 years old, to The Carlisle in Lombard, Illinois on December 7 to get into the holiday spirit by participating in the company's holiday festivities. Club members experienced the joy of giving to others and being of service as they worked side-by-side with BCBS employees to assemble care packages for victims of Hurricane Sandy. The members also had a chance to attend a staff meeting, which gave them a glimpse of working and collaborating in a corporate setting. At the end of the evening, members enjoyed sharing a meal with BCBS employees and were then surprised to receive a DVD player as thanks for their assistance in assembling care packages. Thanks BCBS for sharing this special day with our members!
